Boat Trailer Warrants of Fitness (WoF)
Keep Your Boat Trailer Road-Ready
Your boat might be ready for the water, but is your trailer ready for the road?
At TS Marine Services, we provide authorised Warrant of Fitness (WoF) inspections for boat trailers and other eligible trailers at our Seaview workshop in Wellington.
It's another way we're making life easier for boat owners, with trailer WoFs now part of our wider marine servicing and maintenance offering.
What's Checked During a Trailer WoF?
A trailer Warrant of Fitness is a safety inspection to check that your trailer meets the required standards for use on New Zealand roads.
Depending on the trailer, the inspection covers key safety components, including:
Tyres and wheels: Condition, tread depth and general safety
Brakes: Operation and condition, where fitted
Lights and reflectors: Correct operation and visibility
Coupling and safety chains: Condition and secure attachment
Chassis and structure: Structural condition and signs of damage or corrosion
Suspension and running gear: Condition and safety of relevant components
A current WoF helps ensure your trailer meets the applicable road safety requirements before you head away.
One Stop for Your Boat and Trailer
Boat trailers work in demanding conditions. Regular exposure to saltwater, boat ramps and long road journeys can take a toll on their components. Having your trailer inspected regularly helps identify safety issues that might otherwise go unnoticed.
And because TS Marine Services already looks after marine engines, mechanical systems and boat servicing, you can arrange your trailer WoF through the same team you trust to look after your boat.
